About Us



The Richmond Nature Park Society is a non-profit organization aimed at promoting natural history and natural history education in Richmond, BC. The Society works in partnership with the City Of Richmond to provide natural history education opportunities that encourage residents and visitors to Richmond to learn about the environment and natural history of this community. Through a formal partnership agreement with the City of Richmond, the Nature Park Society provides governance, determines programs, sets policy, fundraises for programming and exhibits, hires programming staff and advocates on behalf of the Richmond Nature Park. Through our partnership agreement, city staff assist the Society in its mandate by facilitating our programs and activities.

The Richmond Nature Park Society’s mission is to ensure a lasting legacy for the community, we will:

  • Conserve and protect the natural environment of this unique urban bog.
  • Offer interpretive education, outreach and special events.
  • Provide opportunities for direct experiences within nature that promotes healthy parks and people
